The countdown is on. Construction at Whitefish’s newest wedding and event center at Grouse Mountain Lodge is well underway ahead of its fall 2026 opening.
Created by Kalispell-based design firm Cushing Terrell and Montana’s Martel Construction, the 8,250-square-foot event center is purpose-built for weddings, receptions, corporate events and retreats.

Year-round availability, thoughtful design and an ideal location just steps from Grouse Mountain Lodge make the new venue the perfect place to celebrate life’s big moments, with space for up to 350 guests.
Before the toasts, first dances and moments of mountain inspiration, we’re celebrating the milestones along the way. Take a look at the latest construction updates below.
The path to your next event is taking form.
May 2026 began with progress outdoors, as concrete was mixed, poured, leveled and troweled surrounding the wedding and event center.
This new pathway is an early step in exterior work and landscaping. Once complete, the venue will offer a seamless indoor–outdoor flow, perfect for al fresco ceremonies, garden parties and retreats beneath Montana’s “Big Sky.”
Later this month, more movement is expected inside. Installation of the chandelier and main room flooring is scheduled, along with further bar construction. A full-scale kitchen will also begin to come together, designed to feed large groups and satisfy every appetite.
With every step, milestones are being met, and anticipation is growing for this fall’s grand opening.
A lot has happened since we broke ground in August 2025.
Over the winter, the Martel Construction team completed the foundation and structure, raising the event center just south of the lodge. The surrounding construction zone is a far cry from the carefully manicured outdoor event space to come. But, with a little foresight, the possibilities feel endless.
Inside, the vision is clearer and closer. Vaulted fir beams and wood panel walls bring a timeless warmth to the space, while expansive, elevated windows and French doors fill the main room with natural light.
Signature touches are taking shape, too. The stone-topped bar with a tiled front facade has been installed along the southern wall. Soon the space will be abuzz with music, cheers and memories in the making. Until then, the buzz of miter saws will have to do.
